HARRY’S SEAFOOD

If you find yourself wandering the historic streets of St. Augustine and suddenly get a craving for something coastal with a Southern twist… Harry’s Seafood Bar & Grille is your sign to stop and stay a while.

We kicked off the night with a classic — calamari to start (because some habits are too delicious to break). Lightly fried, perfectly golden, and served with a side of remoulade that added just the right kick. Safe to say the plate didn’t last long.

Now let’s talk cocktails: I went with an espresso martini, because why not bring a little class (and caffeine) to the table? It was smooth, balanced, and had just the right amount of kick which is ideal for sipping under the patio string lights with a river breeze rolling in.

For my main dish, I went with the cajun seared tuna — and honestly, it might be one of my favorite dishes I’ve had in downtown St. Augustine. It was fresh, flavorful, and paired beautifully with the creole rice, served with sesame soy greens and finished with sriracha aioli, honey chile glaze and toasted sesame seeds. Light but still satisfying — like the kind of meal you’d want after a sunny beach day or a long walk down St. George Street.

My friend ordered the french market pasta, which came smothered in a rich and creamy sauce with just enough spice to make it interesting. I stole a bite (okay, two), and let’s just say… if you’re into comfort food with a creole edge, this one’s calling your name.

The whole evening had that slow, Southern ease to it. We sat on the patio under string lights with a little breeze coming off the water and a view of the charming, cobblestone streets — just enough atmosphere to make you feel like you’re on vacation, even if you're just out for dinner.

Bites to try next time (because yes, I’m already planning round two):

  • Crab Crusted Redfish Royale

  • Harry’s Signature Crab Cakes

  • Key Lime Pie and the Oreo Beignets (because priorities)

Final thoughts:
Harry’s hits that sweet spot of cozy-meets-classic with dishes that feel like comfort food dressed up for a night out. Come for the cocktails, stay for the flavors — and definitely don’t skip the patio if the weather’s nice.
