CAPS ON THE WATER

If you're looking for fresh seafood with a view that absolutely delivers, Cap’s on the Water is the kind of place you’ll want to linger — long after your plate’s been cleared. Nestled right on the Intracoastal in St. Augustine, Cap’s is known for two things: breathtaking sunsets and food that tastes like Florida in every bite.

We started with the Smoked Fish Dip, and let me tell you… this is not your average scoop-and-go starter. It came loaded with flavor and texture. Capers, pickles, onions, roasted peppers, and served with crispy flatbread that made it dangerously easy to keep snacking. Smoky, briny, and bright , this one sets the tone in the best way.

For the main event, I went with the Blackened Mahi served over coconut rice and swimming in a lemongrass coconut curry broth, topped with cilantro and pickled onion. It was bold, tropical, and super well-balanced. This is the kind of dish that makes you pause mid-bite and say "okay, wow."

We also had the Grilled Mahi Sandwich with fries — a classic done right. The fish was perfectly charred, flaky, and juicy, tucked into a soft bun and served with golden fries that didn’t need any extra dressing up.

And of course… you’re eating all of this right on the water. The views are dreamy, especially around golden hour, and the vibe is the perfect blend of upscale and laid-back. Come in sandals, order a cocktail, and stay for the sunset.
