If you’re in St. Augustine and in need of a cozy corner with strong coffee and something savory to snack on, look no further than The Kookaburra. This Aussie-American coffee shop is known for two things: bold espresso drinks and crave-worthy pies that take comfort food to the next level.

I ordered the Honey Badger Latte and it instantly became a new favorite. It's a smooth and creamy latte with honey, cinnamon, and vanilla — warm, cozy, and just sweet enough without going overboard. Basically, fall in a cup, but good year-round.

Now let’s talk pies. We went for the Thai Chicken Chili Pie, packed with chicken and shredded veggies in a flavorful Thai chili sauce. It was spicy, savory, and wrapped in that perfectly golden, flaky pastry crust. This one has a little kick, and I loved every bite.

I also had the Traditional Meat Pie, which is classic for a reason. It’s filled with minced meat and onions simmered in a rich tomato gravy that tastes like pure comfort. If you’ve never had an Aussie meat pie, this one is the perfect place to start.
