THE BOATHOUSE
The Boathouse blends relaxed riverfront dining with bold Southern seafood, making it the kind of spot where you can sip, snack, and stay awhile.
We started with the blackened gator tail — flavor-wise, it had that Cajun kick, but the texture was a little chewy for my taste. The bang bang shrimp, though, was crispy, saucy, and packed with sweet heat. Definitely a crowd-pleaser.
My favorite of the apps was the ahi tuna — light, fresh, and beautifully plated. If you’re looking for something clean but still flavorful, this is the move.
For mains, the shrimp and grits brought all the comfort. Creamy, cheesy, and full of seasoning — this dish hit every Southern note. The fried shrimp basket was golden and crispy, and pairing it with truffle fries gave it that extra upgrade with a truffle aoli!
We also tried the fried flounder, which was lightly breaded and super fresh. We got it with asparagus, making it feel a little lighter and more refined without sacrificing flavor.
With views of the water, a laid-back atmosphere, and portions that satisfy, The Boathouse is a perfect stop for Southern classics done with a little flair.
